Marisa Jones, an Assistant Behavior Specialist in the public school system, has dedicated over 25 years to supporting children with autism, passionately giving a voice to the voiceless. Marisa has known Gayle and John (practically) her entire life. When Johnny was born, Marisa became aunt Marisa, and that’s where their story began. She cherishes countless memories— from Johnny’s obsession of Toy Story and Cars, to dancing in the kitchen and needing stitches, to karate, to breaking his elbow, singing and dancing to Michael Jackson, playing (and cheating) at Monopoly, poker, kicking her behind in Word Hunt and watching Friends, are moments she will never forget. When Johnny was diagnosed, Marisa was at a loss as to how to help. At times she felt hopeless, but knew she had to do something. She took action by creating the We Are Johnny Strong Facebook page and GoFundMe, fostering a community that has grown to over 2.5K followers, reached 60K people, and raised over $80,000. Together, they ensure Johnny's enduring legacy. Johnny always wished to be remembered, and thanks to the incredible support of this community, his memory will endure forever.
